Investigations are under way to try and determine the cause of a fire at LIAT’s offices.

The fire is reported to have started at around 10:15pm on Sunday evening at the Antigua  based airline’s offices. There were no reports of injuries but the fire destroyed two office block buildings, a hangar and an aircraft –  a Dash 8–300 .

Corporate Communications Manager Desmond Brown said reports are still coming in however the data compiled so far shows significant losses.

“The losses are related to one of the Company’s Dash 8–300 aircraft (V2 LGH), a hangar and two office buildings which were all destroyed during the fire,” Brown said.

The airline is working with the investigative authorities of Antigua and Barbuda as well as the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) to find the cause of the fire.
