US Airways has been named as one of the 50 best U.S. companies for Hispanic women to work for in the current issue of LATINA Style magazine. It is the second year in a row that US Airways has been included on the LATINA Style list. The magazine reviewed more than 800 corporations and included US Airways as the only airline among its top 50 companies.
The magazine’s annual rankings identify U.S. corporations that provide the best career opportunities for Hispanic women. As part of US Airways’ commitment to promoting and maintaining a diverse workforce, it provides all 32,000 employees with access to various employee resource groups, including the Professional Latino Airline Network of Employees (PLANE), and opportunities for career advancement. The airline also provides comprehensive leadership development training for employees, as well as competitive employee benefits.
“To repeat this achievement for a second year is evidence of the airline’s commitment to diversity,” said US Airways’ Vice President, Human Resources, Dan Pon.
“I’m especially proud of our PLANE employee resource group, which encourages networking and mentorship.”
US Airways has received honors for other diversity efforts including seven consecutive years with a 100 percent score with the Human Rights Commission’s Corporate Equality Index, and distinctions in the Black EOE Journal, Professional Women’s Magazine and Hispanic Business Magazine. US Airways’ employee resource groups continue to look for ways to impact the business and the communities they serve in a positive way.
This year’s LATINA Style 50 Companies will be honored in February, during LATINA Style’s Awards Ceremony & Diversity Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C.
